How To Handle Connection Requests
Covenant Connect · October 30, 2026

Someone Reached Out. Now What? Understanding Connections on Covenant Connect
Receiving a connection request can be exciting.
Someone has seen your profile, considered the possibility of getting to know you and expressed interest in starting a conversation.
But what should you do next?
Covenant Connect makes it possible to review, accept or decline connection requests from one place.
Where to Find Your Requests
Sign in and navigate to Connections.
This page helps you manage requests you have sent, requests you have received and connections that have already been accepted.
Review Before You Decide
Open the connection tab to view pending requests.
Before accepting, take a moment to review the person's profile.
Consider their stated intentions, faith, values and other information they have shared.
You are not obligated to accept every request you receive. The purpose is to make a thoughtful decision about whether you would like to explore a potential connection.
What Happens When You Accept?
When you accept a connection request, a private conversation opens immediately.
One helpful feature is that this chat is available across all membership tiers, including the free Seeker tier.
You can then move to Messages to begin communicating with your new connection.
What If You Want to Decline?
If you do not wish to proceed, you can decline the request.
The platform handles the decline privately, without telling the sender why you declined.
This allows you to make your decision without feeling pressured to provide an explanation.
Manage Your Accepted Connections
Accepted connections remain listed under the Accepted tab.
You can return to this section whenever you want to revisit a connection or continue a conversation.
Remember: Acceptance Is the Beginning
Accepting a request does not mean you have committed to a relationship.
It simply opens the door to communication.
Use the opportunity to learn about each other, ask thoughtful questions and determine whether there is sufficient compatibility to continue.
Check your Connections page and respond to your requests when you are ready.
